The only digital manipulation of images here is to correct for limitations of the electronic sensor and the deficiencies of the photographer (e.g. white balance, exposure, noise reduction, etc.)

Every effort is made to avoid stressing the animal subjects while observing/photographing them.
This site best viewed on a large Retina (or other HiDPI screen). Because of the large number of images, a high-speed connection is recommended.
Watermarking detracts from the images but, unfortunately, is necessary because some of these images have been been found on other sites, either selling them or falsely claiming ownership. Watermarking doesn’t prevent theft but can be a deterrent. All images have digital (non-visible) watermarks in addition to the visible one.
